A haemostasis advisory house — with the conflict stated, not hidden.
elixir is a specialist haemostasis diagnostics advisory house, rooted in haemostasis and broader across pathology. We advise NHS haematology and pharmaceutical coagulation programmes on specialist assays, and we advise on the reagents and instruments behind them. We are the UK partner for Technoclone GmbH, which supplies the UK directly, without a distributor in between — and we say so on every page, because where you buy from shapes what you are told.
Depth in haemostasis. Reach across pathology.
A specialist haemostasis diagnostics advisory house. The work starts where a screening clotting time stops — the specialist assays that decide a diagnosis once PT and aPTT have run their course — and widens into the broader pathology questions laboratories face as networks consolidate.
Specialist judgement, held to evidence
Assay selection, the specialist test menu, and the governance that goes with it — explained against the published literature, for the laboratory in front of us.
A curated range, advised on
The Technoclone reagent and Ceveron instrument lines, plus complementary lines that do not compete with them — we advise on their use and connect the laboratory to Technoclone's direct supply.
Senior judgement, held to the published evidence.
Every figure we put in front of you carries its citation and the caveat that goes with it, and where another method or assay is the better answer for your laboratory, we say so — even when it isn't a Technoclone line. The work is done to one standard, from the first enquiry to the advice you act on.
Advising and representing, kept apart on the page.
elixir both advises laboratories and represents Technoclone to them. Those two roles can pull in different directions, so we keep them visible rather than blurred.
We give expert judgement, held to the evidence
We give expert haemostasis and pathology judgement, held to the published evidence. Where another method or assay is the better answer for your laboratory, we say so — even when it is not a line we represent.
What we represent is curated — and we tell you so
What we represent is curated. We are the UK partner for Technoclone GmbH, alongside complementary lines that do not compete with it. That is a deliberate range, not a whole market — and naming it is the point.
What we represent is curated — and we tell you so. The conflict between advising and representing does not disappear by being named, but it stops being hidden. You can read the advice knowing exactly what we represent and why, and weigh it accordingly.
Every figure sourced — and its caveat stated.
A claim is only as good as the source under it. So on every test page, each number we quote carries a citation chip linking the primary paper, and a plainly worded caveat saying where the figure does — and does not — apply.
- Citation chip on each figure — author, year, journal, and a link to the primary source.
- A verbatim caveat naming the limits: small n, definition-dependent ranges, manufacturer-stated values, or where no head-to-head exists.
- The named next-best comparator presented fairly — never a claim that a product is the only, the best, or the gold standard.
- Figures marked illustrative are schematic, not pooled patient data, and are labelled as such.
On the Ceveron t100 with Ceveron TGA RC High, between-run reproducibility across 19 replicate runs of normal control plasma is 4.2% CV for AUC and 7.4% for peak — quoted only with its source and its limits attached.
Thrombin generation is a global haemostasis assay with routine clinical application. The research-use caveat applies specifically to DOAC drug-level monitoring, for which thrombin generation does not support routine use (Meihandoest 2021) — not to the assay class, and not to the CE-marked Ceveron platform.
The legal facts, in plain terms.
elixir is the trading name of Elixir Consulting Ltd. There is no team page of stock faces and no testimonials we cannot stand behind — only the work and the evidence under it.
